Once His gifts I wanted, now the Giver only.
Once I sought for blessing, now Himself alone! -A.B Simpson-
I am heavy hearted in asking you to pray for our situation. We thank God that He has spared Seong’s life and allows Seong to serve Him here among the Mihi Tribe, for the Mihi people’s salvation. Even though Seong is doing well these days but according to the doctor’s opinion, we may face Seong’s death anytime, any day and at any place. But so far, every day is a special gift from God for Seong, always remembering to thank Him and serve Him joyfully each day.
Today, unexpectedly, we received the letter below from our NTM PNG Central Area Leadership team. We take the below message as God’s voice wanting us to prepare for unknown time of Seong’s death.
Hence, we feel we should follow NTM leadership’s loving and caring suggestion.
You can imagine how difficult all the decision making is for us and how hard it is to go forward with the recommendation of others when our hearts tell us that we want to be with the business of teaching the gospel to the Mihi people we love so much.
We trust there are so many people praying for us and loving us and Seong through this time in our lives.
In all our ways, we acknowledge HIM, we have peace in our hearts for honoring God with our obedience to those He put over us.
Please pray with us for our financial needs for going out from our bush home to NTM HQ via helicopter,
for the purchase of return tickets to Australia to apply for Evacuation Insurance in Australia and the expense for EA insurance. God’s thoughts and our thoughts are different; His plans and our plans are totally different. The NTM doctor even mentioned that we should also apply for funeral insurance; one of NTM staff is trying to find a place to cremate Seong’s body in the small town of Goroka in the highlands of PNG.
Yet, we are encouraged in the Lord and thank you for your part in our lives and for His ministry. Thank you for understanding what we are going through and for praying with us. Only by God’s grace, can we face tomorrow!
In Him, Seong and Mina
Letter from Central Area Leadership:
Hello Seong and Mina,
I trust you are doing well and encouraged in the ministry, we do pray for you. I’m thankful for the help that Phil and Fiona have been as they have worked on your behalf with regard to your medical insurance coverage. They have been keeping me up to date with the situation of your medical plan through EA Insurance, now that it has expired. With the information we have from EA Insurance, plus what is required in the NTM-PNG Field Policy about having full medical insurance, this means that you will need to return, as soon as possible, to Australia to go through the process of applying for medical insurance I read over the EA Budget Insurance plan and see that it does not cover pre-existing conditions, medevac’s for pre-existing conditions or repatriation and our policy states that you need to have this. What will need to take place is an assessment by an Australian doctor before you can re-apply, and you cannot do that from here. I’m heavy hearted in communicating this to you with your recent return, but in the same manner the negative ramifications of not having full (comprehensive) medical insurance needs, is significant. The cost for expenses for a potential medevac/repatriation in event of death, with no, or very little, medical insurance will fall to your family and that would be a financial burden for you as a couple and for your sons. It is out of love and concern that we ask you to not wait till September when Seong’s next appointment has been scheduled, but to see this situation resolved as soon as possible.
Joseph, on behalf of the Central Area Leadership Team
We are sending this prayer request while standing on the promises of God. Matthew 6:25-34
“Look at the birds of the air;
They do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.
Are you not much more valuable than they?
Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life!”
“Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.
Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
